This is a feature I did not know existed, but it’s too exciting not to share and talk about, so today I’m gonna mention this absolutely great feature that WordPress.com offers – automatic tags!
How do you create a tag automatically?
Usually you put tags into the tag field in the right sidebar, but to create an automatic tag, all you have to do is put a # before it, just like you do on Instagram and other social media that has tags. These tags will automatically become links to that specific tag as well, which makes your post shine even further.
So in this post, let’s say I’m adding #WordPress, and #writing and #blogging – you will see that all three tags are linked and when I save or publish this draft, they will automatically be added to my tag field in my sidebar.
How fun, right?
Also it seems like this is a feature dedicated to WordPress.com hosted blogs, so self-hosted ones do not have it, yet. They might in the future, but as of now, that is not the plan (as far as I know).
