How I decide what to write in my blog…

The wonderful Spectacled Bean wrote and answered about her blog in the latest post of theirs, and at the end of it, there were some questions that I thought I’d answer, just because I can and I will 😂.

If you write a personal blog, do you generally favor a plot-driven or character-driven approach to your blog?

I guess a mix of both, since Fedora Pancake is the hero of this blog and I will write whatever tickles my fancy. I’d like to write very personal posts to be honest, but that’s dangerous territory. At least how one normally tells it, which is generally filled with details about absolutely everything going on in their life. For me, safety is super-important, so I nag a lot about my privacy.

How do you decide what you’ll write about next?

It all depends. If it's a Monday, Thursday or Friday – then it's usually time to write something for the various blogging challenges I partake in. Some days I answer the repetitive daily prompts that fedorapancakes.com/ has, and sometimes I come up with what to write myself or I get inspired by what I read or hear from others.

What worries you about how your blog posts will be received? Do you have any small nagging fears like I do? Or maybe some large ones I haven’t thought of?

Well, the stats of one’s post is always a curious thing or something in that nature. I always hope that I’ll have a popular blog and that I’ll have hundreds if not thousands of happy readers, but so far – that’s not the case and I don’t know what I can do to change that. I do not want to post 3 – 5 times per day and annoy my subscribers, even though that can absolutely lead to more views, but I also don’t have enough material or time to do that if I could.

What worries me most about the blog is not about how a post will be received, but something else, but I will not talk about that reason on this blog.

Any other questions you’d like to ask me about personal blogging?

For how long have you’ve been blogging and why do you keep the schedule that you do? Have you ever thought about writing daily or even multiple times per day?
