In this week’s Share Your World, we’re talking about school and work related stuff. Let’s jump right in, because I’ve got nothing special to say anyway, besides answering these questions in a friendly manner.
- It’s the second May Bank Holiday here in the UK and the kids are on half term break. In your country, do schools have a ‘Half Term’ break?
Not that I know of, but there are a lot of holidays celebrated in the spring so it feels like the kids are off from school every week 😂. Not that I have any, but they’re all over the place when I go outside. - Education methods have changed a lot since I left school in 1972.
Would you like to be learning in a classroom of today?
Both yes and no. I’d love to learn something really useful that can get me a better income than I have today, but I don’t know if I’m cut out for spending more time behind a school desk. I’d like to have a new job without that, but I love to learn new things too. - Did you leave school as soon as you could, or did you go on to study for a degree or other higher education?
I feel like I’ve studied my whole life, to be honest 😂 and all it got me was the lowest income possible and huge student loans. - When you entered the working world, did your job require ‘qualifications’ or did you learn on the job?
The job I have now requires no skills whatsoever. A robot could do this and be happy. Me, I’m just miserable living basically pay check to pay check. If it wasn’t for the BF, I’d be out on the street in no time or back to live with my parents and who would want that when they’re adults?
Gratitude:
“When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in”.
That’s what the text on the photo below says. I don’t know if I agree, but in these “dark times” of mine, I focus a lot on what I have and I feel tremendous joy over it so I guess the words do make some kind of sense at least.
