Dear Illusion. I’m here to break up. I don’t have time with you any longer. Why? Because I feel like a fool, sitting here waiting like an idiot and nothing ever happens. The signs are there, but there is no change, nothing visible, nothing pure. No, the change is with me. I’m the one that’s here, that’s visible. That’s trying to find the pureness within me. I cannot find it within you.
I do not need you. I never needed you, yet I held on like a crazy person. Those days are over!
I used to believe everything I saw, that I heard no matter if what I got was the truth or not. I’ve never been the one that miracles come to. I’ve had to work harder than anybody else and I still fail. It was because of you. Now I know that. In order to get shit done, I have the be the one to do it. I will never get anything I deserve by just sitting and waiting for it. I do regret that I reached out to you, though. Maybe it was a good thing for you, but for me it was not.
I got caught in your trap again and again and now it’s time to move on. Let. It. Go. The snow always bothered me anyways.
I have changed, or at least I’d like to think so. I have power. I am the king of the world! Or at least of my own story. There is something in it for me, I just know it. I feel it, I am working towards it. Why? Because it is what matters. There is no place for you inside it. I don’t need you. And I need to stop believing that I do need you, because I never did. There are other things that drive me. That goal, that dream, that future. If I look hard enough, there’s no room for you. There never was.
Other people may say that I need someone like you in my life. Because otherwise, what’s the point? I disagree. If there’s something I’ve learned, it’s that I am enough and you do not make me whole. I don’t feel empty and I don’t feel sad because I do not have you in my life. I just feel weird that you are the fly trap that I seem to escape, but as soon as I do that, I’m back where I started and I can’t let go.
But now I’m done.
It’s over.
Goodbye.
Before I go, though… I’d like to thank you. I believe that you were here to teach me something about myself. I learned a lot. I learned to focus. To work for it. To leave what does not serve me and to reach towards betterment and usefulness. You do not give me that.
So now I leave you. And I wish you the best.
This was a letter that just came to me. Whether it’s true or not, I felt I had to write it. I am working so hard at myself, working towards change in a better way and writing helps me to get perspective. It’s the same with the short stories I write. Perhaps this is a new thing for me, and I will add a category for it. Nonetheless I do hope you liked it and please let me know if you did.
Thanks!
