The fear of writing is what should make you brave

One of the best things I love to do while I'm on fedorapancakes.com/ dashboard is to surf around on the WordPress reader feature. I get so inspired. So happy. And so thrilled after every visit and now it is time to show another blogger out there some love. And thank them for inspiring me to write this post.

I found a blog called Rise & Inspire and they're answering a daily prompt from fedorapancakes.com/ asking;

Daily writing prompt
What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

At first I thought I would not answer this one myself. It’s a bit too early to talk about such a personal subject as fear. However, the post I read inspired me to write about it anyway. I will turn it into a twist that’s both inspiring and helpful. But I am also doing my best here to NOT twist the authors words. That’s pretty important!

This post is a few days late as well, but it took a bit of time to write about it. I wanted to be thorough and not misunderstand anything.

In this post, the writer expresses fear. They worry that their written post will just add more noise to the static of the blogosphere. I think that’s a fear all of us blogger have. Especially if you’re new in the field like I am. There’s nothing worse than seeing a great post going unread or ignored. What they fear is to write something that should not exist as well. Like being unnecessary in the world of blogs. Oh, yeah – I can relate.

Unique points and views are needed within the blogosphere

I mean, who wants to read bad crap? Who wants to spend time with yet another “boring” blog? I know I don’t. I use pancake references here to spice things up. I know I have to be realistic as well. But that is also why I am enjoying taking things slow here. Rome wasn’t built in a day they say. Well, yeah. The same can be said about blogging. It would be very unrealistic and stupid of me to imagine otherwise.

If we refer to Rise & Inspire’s post about fear, we should go through their key points.

Creating with “uncertainty Intentions”

The author here has developed a framework. Personally I find it absolutely brilliant!

  1. Embrace the “anti legacy” mindset
    • Create something for the sake of connection. It’s ok if your work is not meant to last. Write a post that says you’re here, just as curious as anybody else.
  2. Practice “reverse plagiarism”
    • First of all, that’s a great idea! It means that you should steal your future self’s ideas. It will make your current you cringe. It will be raw and messy. But the future will build that mess into something better. That’s truly inspirational.
  3. Host a “funeral for impact”
    • Be prepared for anything. Before you publish your post, take a moment. Think about all the things that might go wrong. That might go right. Sort of like me, writing this post trying to honor another blogger. And at the same time, being inspired and uplifted to write about the fear of writing.
  4. Become a “curator of your obsessions”
    • We should write about fear, but filter it through our weirdest passions, the author says. I couldn’t agree more. My blog was created with that same intent! The world needs more context, not more content. So let’s merge it with pancake making and strange rituals. Let your unique point of view be the niche fascinations of how you write and publish.

All and all, I really do find these tips and tricks extremely useful. I hope you do too. You really should take this to heart if you’re a blogger like me. Let’s let go of the fear we have and the rest will follow. Still, I think it’s important to connect and write both from our hearts and for the community.

Inspiration is key to learning

Like so many other writers out there, I write to inspire. To help you think. Learn. And be fascinated with things you never thought possible. While I’m writing, I’m too am learning new things with each single word that hits this post with my keyboard.

The author of that post is also encouraging us to use AI in a better way. Instead of letting it do all the work for us, it should help us instead to be creative. To be absolutely honest with you, that is what I’ve been doing.

I use AI to help me find topics to write. I let it write a paragraph or two for me, at least sometimes. Then, I rewrite those paragraphs myself. I make it more suitable for this blog. And for my style of writing.

My goal for this blog is not to let AI take over. It is only used to help spark my creativity when I have no posts or ideas myself. There is nothing wrong with that. However, I’m not thrilled by the fact that AI is everywhere these days. I know I’m not alone thinking this. I’m grateful of this technology, because it helps me to keep my privacy while I write. I use AI the way the author is recommending. It’s a helpful tool to write better and to be a cynical critic of my stuff.

How I use AI to help me write better posts

As of writing I'm using the built in AI tools that fedorapancakes.com/ offers. I check the reading score, to make sure that it's easy to understand for you. It's hard, though to reach a good level 😂. I don't know how you're supposed to reach a 12, when it seems getting above a 5 is super hard.

To achieve a post with a high reading score, include subheadings, lists, and images. Ensure the images have captions. It should also have a lot of paragraphs and follow a red thread. All the questions should be answered and there should be a real finishing line.

Me on the computer focusing on motivational posts for you to read

No paragraph should be too long either. At the end, it’s encouraging to ask your audience some questions to help them improve the community. The blogging community grows through reading, liking, and commenting on posts. It keeps getting better with every single word and happy note.

It's useful to keep sentences short and use a good font that's easy to read. I do all of these things to help you get the best post to read possible. I currently use the 2025 theme that's officially from WordPress themselves. I don't know what font, though 😂, but it's the default one. I'm also paying for the premium plan to get the most out of the styles that fedorapancakes.com/ offers. There is no need to self-host here.

Subheadings are cool, and I should try and use them more often

Perhaps it can seem like I'm dragging this post on and on. Apparently, having a longer post makes it more fun to read as well. So that is why I do it. I'm not done with what I have to say in today's post. While still being sort of in the topic of AI, I really do like that fedorapancakes.com/ offers helpful tools such as generating:

  • SEO friendly post titles
  • Featured images and other images in various styles. Now it even works with text. Check out my homepage if you haven’t already!
  • Help when a sentence is too long and there’s need to shortening it to make it easier to read.
  • Excerpts that can be written both formally, informally and in other ways to fit the style of the post.
  • And more…

Ok, so AI is great when it comes to writing sometimes. It is useful as a blogger when you lack ideas for a post, or you can’t find the rhythm for it today. And I promise you, the reader that AI won’t take over this blog. But what if before I go, we’d resume some finishing thoughts about fear regarding blogging?

Fear is a natural feeling, but you shouldn’t go overboard with it

As a new blogger in the WordPress community, I fear for many things to be honest. I fear that I won’t be doing this for as long as I can or plan to. I’ve been looking forward to this for so long. Nothing should stop me from reaching this goal. I want to have a truly successful blog.

There are tools that WordPress can do to make this goal easier. Just out of the box, the features of this place blows my mind. That is why people are raving about WordPress. If you should have a blog, it should be on WordPress and no place else, to be honest.

I can absolutely agree to this. I will keep on writing, one post at a time. With each post, I will see my list of subscribers getting bigger. My comment section grow larger and the WordPress community being more and more helpful.

So what is fear? What can I do to go through with something that scares me? Well, I will just keep on writing.
