The current state of the world and how we as bloggers can improve it

A few days ago I noticed a huge theme going on here on fedorapancakes.com/. Everybody seemed either pissed off, more inspirational than usual and the feelings were all over the place. As a blogger I feel I have to do something.

The world is currently on fire. Both literally and metaphorically and we all know why. In the U.S, the city of L.A has been burning for months due to climate change and Donald Trumps is yet again president. This time, he means business, creating tariffs with financial wars on the cusp of breaking everything. He’s destroying so much, expelling millions of “illegal” immigrants, wanting to take over countries that he has no need of taking over etcetera, etcetera…

Bloggers need to stick together

I have sort of promised to not talk about politics on this blog. I have made such a promise due to me wanting to keep this blog inspirational, happy and a bit odd. I do however believe that what’s happening in the world today is absolutely awful. And that is why we need to stick together. Yes, bloggers – of course, but all the people around the world.

Let’s unite against the dictators of the world before it is too late

Who the enemy is, I cannot say. I am keeping a neutral standpoint here even though I urge everybody to base their beliefs on real, scientific facts and not hearsay and other nonsense. If we know what is right and we know the cause of it, then we should know how to fight it and to fight it the right way. Without bloodshed, tears and rage quitting.

There are many inspiring posts from bloggers to read to help keep spirits up in these harsh times

From the blogs I’ve chosen to follow here so far, people are writing very special posts that I absolutely love to read. For example, I found a post by a guy named Chris that I really think you should read. It helped me get inspired to write this post.

There’s also Fandango, an avid blogger that likes to write about the American president and his mischievous tasks. If there’s one post you should read by Fandango, it’s this one in my opinion. He wrote about waking up and knowing that Mr D.T is not the president and that instead the U.S had a woman for president and life went on as normal.

The feeling of worry is global and as a European, I can relate to all of it

With everything going on, I bet a lot of Americans feel the same way that Fandango does. Many are worried. Women are terrified of having kids. Many are thinking of leaving the U.S and I understand. Living in Europe is pretty safe, even though lots of countries here are seeing a rise in ultra right-wing madness, blaming every single thing on immigrants, when the truth is most likely something else entirely. Any smart person can see that the truth is not to blame it on a single person of color, but to something else like climate change.

What we can do as bloggers to help with the current state of the world

Well, we can keep on writing and try and inspire, help and guide others as much as truly possible. There’s a classic saying, nobody can’t do everything, but we can all do something and that is exactly what I mean here.

As usual, here’s a checklist to ease the world by using your words to help others with your blog as your weapon:

  • Write often – If you don’t have a schedule at the moment, try and create one and stick to it. Write about personal things, without adding way too much information for safety reasons to inspire others to see your own Point of View. You can learn so much from others if you can reason why etc. I’ve chosen to write every other day at various times and for the foreseeable future that is what I will stick to.
  • Be inspirational – I’m not saying you have to be religious about it, just form your blog posts in a way that will make people care and listen as much as is possible for your readers, whether they’re loyal or not. In the end you will be grateful for inspiring others and be a beacon of light. If you want tips on a few blogs to follow besides my blog you can follow M. E Journals and also Rise & Inspire.
  • Be kind – Ok, this one is perhaps a bit redundant, but I think it's more important than ever to actually start caring. You can care by being nice and not a jerk. Not that I've seen that many jerks so far in the fedorapancakes.com/ reader and community, but of course they exist. More specifically, I mean that you should be kind to your readers, reply to their comments as soon as possible and encourage them to come again.
  • If worst comes to worse – share photos of pets. Especially cats! It seems that people will brighten up their days if they see cute photos of cats and dogs and other animals and I can agree. I’d share photos of my pets too, but since I’d like to keep my privacy – I won’t share pictures of them, just AI generated versions of them but they can be cute too.

There are probably other things you can do as well, but this is what I could come up with in today’s post.

Final thoughts about what we can do as bloggers to inspire the world

The importance of SEO and how you can utilize to spread your fedorapancakes.com/ blog

I’ve read a lot of posts lately about SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and even though I’m so far blocking search engines to reach my blog – I think it’s important to follow the rules for it anyway. There are some tips and tricks here and if you’d like to know even more, fedorapancakes.com/ is currently writing a series about it. The one I linked to just now is about how to use header tags for SEO and accessibility and it is worth a read. There are also 30 tips on how to increase traffic to your blog and also another one about 21 tactics you can use to also increase traffic.

How does SEO and inspirational blogs relate?

That is a great question to ask, really because some people might think they’re totally unrelated. If you’re struggling to get traffic to your blog, you might end up pretty sad about it and quit writing and we do not want that. Especially not since I’m trying to motivate you to keep on doing it since we’re striving towards a goal of helping others with our words today.

If you spend a lot of time writing inspiringly well and nobody reads it, the point of writing may seem moot and that is bad in my very personal opinion and probably yours as well. We need to get as much traffic as possible onto these motivational blog posts so that everybody who reads them will get the strength to continue with all their current life struggles.

Most important is to just keep on writing

And of course, to be yourself while you’re at it. I’m me, but I write everything here with privacy in mind. It’s why I use a pen name and why I will never disclose my exact location. Some people might think that this hinders writing but for me it has proven the absolute opposite, actually. I think writing in the way I do, privately and happily is what helps me to be inspired to inspire you to keep reading. It’s a win-win in the best way possible.

To keep on writing is hard, though. I’ve read and heard over the years that people quit for various reasons and I get why they do. That is why I think we all need to chip in harder to help those in need out. Writing about something usually helps as I have tons of friends that use writing as a tool to help fight strange feelings and to get their experience out there for the public to read and know about.

We can change how we use social media and move on to decentrialized platforms

If we’d all just share absolutely zero personal things online and none of our Points of View, I think the world would be extremely boring, don’t you? Social media is of course a mess today as well, but what can we do about that? Well, we don’t have to use established platforms that billionaires own. We can try something else. That is why I created an account with Bluesky. Follow me there and if you subscribe to my blog, I’ll follow you back. The link can be found in the header menu.

Using social media in a better way than we know of today is also quite crucial in my opinion. Like Fandango mentioned in his blog post, I also dream of the day when Meta and Google do not own our lives online and of course the day when we don’t have to worry about what the president of the United States is doing to make our lives even worse than we already thought was possible.

An AI generated image that is supposed to feature all the different social media platforms within the Fediverse

The Fediverse is an interesting choice for the future of social media

But I have yet to establish anything with my blog on there as of yet. I’d like to see how using Bluesky will work at first. That’s not a part of the Fediverse yet, but it’s not owned by a billionaire at least. It will be a platform that will be free of ads, not have an algorithm hiding what you’d like to see and not spying on you when you leave the platform. Everything is possible to help people coping with everything that’s going on today. Let’s not make it worse, ok?

What do you think we can do to help others cope? Let me know in the comments below with any tips or tricks you’ve got up your sleeve.

Oh, and if you've read so far and you're ready to leave a comment, please try and leave one through the reader. There's a major problem with leaving comments currently on fedorapancakes.com/.
