No Theme Thursday: Towards the goal

I have a goal with my life, along with the rest of you and in today’s post I thought I’d share some of them with you. Goals and dreams can often be the same thing and the difference may lie in how we achieve them? Personally, it feels like I’ve struggled forever to get somewhere and I keep standing still.

I have a very bad job. I’m not gonna tell you what it is, but it pays almost nothing, the boss is absolute shit, it’s lonely and it has no futuristic aspects whatsoever.

An illustration featuring a young woman with braids and glasses, looking concerned as she holds an envelope labeled 'Salary', while an older man in a suit with a cigar observes her, surrounded by piles of paperwork in a dimly lit office.
This is how I feel each day at this crappy job! Nobody deserves to do this shit I’m doing each day against my will

I have a dream and a goal of pursuing something else, and I’ve been trying for years to achieve it, to no avail. Just like I bet so many of you sitting out there have been trying to do and also fail at. The job market for years in various countries all over the world has been a total nightmare. Even the simplest jobs are hard to finds and the ones that require experience only goes to those that have had loads and loads of it. I’m actually quite lucky, even though the job situation sucks. It could be a lot worse for me, but thankfully I can at least pay my bills and eat the food I want. Let’s just say, if I’d live by my own, I’d be absolutely fucked. This only works because there’s two of us to share the finances. Alone it would never work.

Why the image of this post is so fitting for what I’m trying to tell you

The featured image of this post is the one I chose by Kevin’s No Theme Thursday is fitting, because it depicts a knight sitting on a horse and they’re off to fight for something – just like me. The neon lights remind me of something that may be of importance, if I reach my goal soon.

I’ve applied for an exciting thing that may lead to me finally reaching my goals, but nothing is confirmed yet. This thing is a bit different, and I hope I will get accepted. It will change so many things for me if I do. It will also include a thousand things that are a huge drawback, but they’re all worth it instead of this shitty job and situation I’m in currently. I don’t know how easy it would be for me to get in, but I am guessing that I’ve argued my point and I need this in order to not drown into a deep depression or something. Many have applied, but few are probably as interested as I am to actually do the work and then take the biggest chance on life I have ever done.

I’m so bored most of the time, which explains why I find excuses to read WordPress blogs and write posts as often as possible during the day. Thankfully, the current job is quite flexible. The boss, even though he’s horrible does not breathe down my neck, so as long as I do what I’m supposed to, I can fit in whatever I want into my daily schedule. I’m really thankful for that. I put in an angry and disappointed boss in the AI generated image above, just to prove even further how shitty my situation really is.

A young woman with a braid and a green hat stands on a snowy road, looking back towards a dark, stormy sky while facing a distant snowy mountain landscape.
Ignore the snow. The snow represents the potential drawbacks if I do not get accepted into this project. Whatever the future holds, we do not want what’s on the left side of the picture.

Conclusion

If I don’t get accepted into this very weird idea, I don’t think I’m ever gonna be able to work with what I want. It’s gonna require a miracle, I believe and I’ve been a very unlucky person so far. The whole world is gonna have to change in order for me to actually have a chance in this life. At least it absolutely feels that way. I might be wrong, but it will take a miracle nonetheless.

If I do get accepted into this thing, you can expect less interaction from me on WordPress, because I will then quit my current job and work more than full-time on this project, so I’ll be pretty pooped at the end of the day.

All and all, I do wish that you cross all your fingers and toes and hope that I get accepted into this thing, because it will be a game changer, both in good ways and in absolute terrible ones, but the good will outweigh the bad shit. I never emphasize words on this blog, so now you know I mean it!

It feels like a mix of excitement and anxiety about an uncertain future.
